How do I restore the account which was an AWS account, after it was taken down? AWS Account?

My AWS account was shut down, and I’d like to get the access I’m allowed to the account and its services.

Take note that if you have shut down your AWS account on your own in the last 90 days and wish to reinstate it, please refer to How do I restart my closed AWS account? If the account suspended is an account that belongs to an organisation, you need to get in touch with the account manager.

If your account was suspended due to outstanding charges. In this instance you may reactivate the account by paying the outstanding charges using the Billing and Cost Management console.

Here are some crucial things to keep in mind in case your account has been suspended due to outstanding charges:

  • If your account hasn’t been activated within the period of 30 days after suspension. If that occurs, the account’s resources may be lost and your account could be shut down.
  • If your account isn’t activated within 90 days after closing, your account will be terminated.
  • Closed accounts cannot be opened up again, and all resources in the account are gone.

To pay for late charges on the account first verify that the information you have on your payment is correct:

  1. Payment Methods Check-in to confirm that the information you have for your payment method is correct.
  2. If your preferred method of payment is no longer available, you can create another payment method and make it an option that is default for payments.

You must then do the following to pay off the remaining balance:

  1. Start by using the Billing and Cost Management console.
  2. From the Menu pane, select Payments. In the menu pane, select.
  3. You can check your outstanding invoices through the Due tab. Due section.
  4. Under the Due payment tab select the invoice you’d like to pay and select the Complete payment option.
  5. On the Complete payment page make sure that the summary is consistent with the amount you plan to pay for, then click Pay and verify.

In the event that you’ve settled the balance in full with a credit card. In that scenario your service will be activated in a matter of minutes.

If you’ve settled the balance in full using another payment method. In this case you’ll need to contact AWS Support to reactivate your account.

Sometimes, services for accounts can take up an hour to reactivate an account. If you’ve paid all overdue charges in total, but your account isn’t active after 24 hours you must contact AWS Support.

If your account doesn’t have any outstanding charges, you can look up the email address associated with your AWS account. AWS will send an email with notice and instructions to the email address that is registered for the account if your account has been suspended due to an additional reason. If you’re not certain what has caused your account to be activate suspended accoun, call AWS Support for help.
